Coming Soon: My Little Raptormaniacs

Surprisingly (considering that this comic has a relatively small number of readers), I've been asked more than once whether I intend to do a crossover between Raptormaniacs and My Little Maniraptor, my unbridled parody of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. After sitting on a potential plot outline for the past few years, I have at last finalized the script and can now say that the answer is yes.

Will this be canon to Raptormaniacs? Yep. Good arguments can be made that this should have remained a non-canon venture, but my plans from the start were to have it influence the main plot in a number of significant ways, so too late. I have tried my best to provide enough background information where needed for readers who are unfamiliar with My Little Pony. But if any objections to this are solely on the basis of hatred or prejudice against the show, well... haters gonna hate.

Coming Soon: Triassic Park

The rest of this story arc will not be in color, but it wouldn't have been a Jurassic Park parody without the signature colors. This year being the release of Jurassic World, I feel it's time to unveil this storyline next. As I came up with the main structure of the narrative years back, however, the story will primarily reference the first Jurassic Park, not Jurassic World.

This arc was initially meant to kick off with an opening song, set to the tune of the Jurassic Park theme, mainly an excuse for me to draw some strange Triassic critters that wouldn't actually feature in the plot itself. My recently finished chart of vertebrate evolution has given me my fill of Triassic beasts though, so we'll dive right into the actual story in the next post.

The Saurosuchus skeleton was referenced from Benton's 1984 article "Rauisuchians and the success of dinosaurs".

Coming Soon: Turn to Stone

I haven't done a story arc for the comic since A Christmas Caudipteryx, back in the first year of this blog! These will likely be par for the course from now on for the comics that I put on here rather than on Tumblr. (The old "regular short strip" format evidently didn't work as well as I would've liked, so I might as well do things big when I do have the chance to post comics here!) This story has been a long time in coming - probably a sign that I'm better at coming up with these rather than one-off shorts for this. I debated a long time whether to do a cover picture or not for these, but I'm decidedly a fan of them, so here you are!
